Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (ToS) govern the use of the ShaderBot service ("Shader Discord Bot"). By using our service, you agree to these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using ShaderBot, you agree to be bound by these ToS. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

2. Service Description

ShaderBot is a comprehensive service that allows you to:

  • Compile GLSL/WGSL shaders into animated GIFs, MP4, WebM and APNG files
  • Create shaders via integrated code editor
  • Manage your shaders via a comprehensive web dashboard
  • Benefit from server plans for team collaboration

All features are currently free. Some features, including server plans for team collaboration, may evolve into a paid model in the future; check the pricing page for the latest information.

3. User Account

To use certain features, you must create an account via Discord OAuth2. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
  • All activities under your account
  • Notifying immediately of any unauthorized use

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for illegal or fraudulent purposes
  • Attempt to access the service or its APIs in an unauthorized manner
  • Create shaders containing offensive, illegal, harmful content or content that infringes on others' rights
  • Use AI or other advanced tools to generate inappropriate content
  • Overload the service with excessive or automated requests
  • Violate the intellectual property rights of others
  • Use the service for cryptocurrency mining or other intensive computations

Violation of these rules may result in suspension or termination of your account.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 User-Generated Shaders

The shaders you create using ShaderBot — whether written manually, edited through the integrated code editor, or generated with AI assistance — belong to you. ShaderBot does not claim ownership over your personal creations.

By using the service, you grant ShaderBot a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, compile, optimize, and display your shaders solely for the purpose of providing the service. This license ends when you delete your content or your account, except for public shaders intentionally published in the community gallery.

ShaderBot does not use your personal shaders to train AI models without your explicit consent.

5.2 ShaderBot Presets

ShaderBot provides access to a curated collection of preset shaders, including shaders generated by AI. While some AI-generated outputs may not be eligible for copyright protection under applicable law, ShaderBot retains exclusive rights over:

  • The selection, arrangement, structure, and presentation of the preset library
  • The curation, modification, and optimization work performed by ShaderBot
  • The presentation, naming, categorization, and metadata of presets
  • All human-authored improvements, edits, and enhancements

Access to these presets is granted under a license of use, not a transfer of ownership. You may not copy, extract, redistribute, resell, or reproduce ShaderBot presets outside the service.

5.3 AI-Generated Content

ShaderBot uses advanced AI models to generate or assist in the creation of shaders. AI-generated content may not be protected by copyright depending on applicable laws. ShaderBot provides such content "as is" and does not guarantee exclusivity or originality.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of AI-generated shaders complies with your local laws and with any third-party licenses applicable to shaders you import.

5.4 ShaderBot Technology

The ShaderBot platform — including its source code, rendering pipeline, shader compiler, AI models, design, branding, documentation, and all associated features — is the exclusive intellectual property of ShaderBot. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, modify, or distribute any part of the ShaderBot service without written permission.

5.5 Restrictions

You agree not to:

  • Extract or scrape the preset library
  • Reproduce ShaderBot presets outside the service
  • Use ShaderBot outputs to train competing AI models

Violation of these rules may result in suspension or termination of your account.

6. AI Usage and Data

Our AI features (code generation assistant and integrated chatbot) use advanced models to help you create content.

  • Data you provide to AI is processed securely and confidentially
  • We do not use your personal data to train our models without explicit consent
  • AI-generated content may be subject to quality and quantity limitations
  • We reserve the right to refuse inappropriate AI requests

7. Limitation of Liability

The service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free. AI features may produce unpredictable results. We will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the service, including losses related to AI.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these ToS. You can terminate your account at any time from your dashboard.

9. Changes to ToS

We reserve the right to modify these ToS at any time. Changes will be published on this page. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

10. Applicable Law

These ToS are governed by French law. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of French courts.
